Patent ProfilesNet allows quick and direct access to current awareness profiles which summarise key developments in your area of interest.

To set up Patent ProfilesNet we follow three steps:
(1)  We work with you to define your search - perhaps you want to monitor your competitors activity and identify technology trends. In all cases, our experts will help you to refine your search requirements. Searches are usually based on IPC (International Patent Classification, Main and/or Secondary), Main US Class and/or Supplementary Classification, patent assignee and inventor names. Searches using patent country, patent number and kind code may also be performed. Other search options are possible, contact Patent Profiles staff for details. You can choose whether your search will run against all covered countries or only against selected ones. Where available you can also choose the kind of publication (e.g. Applications or Granted Patents).
(2) We will then run the search for you weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. You will receive an email advising you that an update has been prepared for you and is stored in a secure area on this site.
(3) You login to www.patentprofilesnet.com to view, print, download and forward the documents we have retrieved for you.

We will monitor and extract relevant patents from the following major authorities :

  • EP (European applications and patents)
  • WO (World Intellectual Property Office applications)
  • DE (German patents, applications and utility, models)
  • USPTO (USPTO applications and patents)
  • English translation of the first page of the patent applications published by the Japanese Patent Office

The collection is updated as soon as new data are available. So you can receive the results within days of publication.

We will format the records to provide brief meaningful summaries of the patents based on the bibliographic data (such as patent number, publication date, title, IPC, assignee, inventor, priority), main claim /abstract and one drawing.

The records are formatted especially for ease of viewing on screen. It is possible to enlarge the drawings for greater clarity.

Each profile update has a Table of Contents to summarise the documents retrieved by that update. You can control the amount of data displayed in the Table of Contents, sort the records and use the navigation buttons. There are facilities for selecting/deselecting documents for further action, such as printing, downloading and email-forwarding to colleagues.

Furthermore, at the click of a button you can display the corresponding full patent document in pdf format for on-screen displays, printing and downloading.

You can generate reports summarising the patents which have been supplied to you in given updates, and drilldown for more detail.

We maintain at least six months of profiles in your own private area on the site.

This all helps to improve your productivity.
